A question about thrush / candida ?

Question: A question about thrush / candida ?

(Posted by: Jenns on 2010-06-07 03:11:53)

Firstly if I know I have it, do I still have to go to the doc ? Secondly, I think I may have passed it onto my hubby :( Shame, what do I do ? I have a little 6 month baby who is still being breastfed, will this be passed onto him too ?

Yes you still have to go to the doc with your husband, and you both will have to take treatment simultaneously since this is a fungal infection.you could continue breast feeding though completewellbeing.com/ article/ are-you-tired/

FIRST, wash your hands before going to baby, SECOND, try some natural remedies for yeast infection (trush/ candida) - see below

Yes you should but you can try using yogurt down there as it will sometimes work to take the itch away as well as using bi-carb soda as this too will work. but both you and your husband should get treated... and hands should be washed.... and if you use a face cloth or wash cloth only you should us it...

I'm not sure a physician will be able to help without putting you on medications that will likely further compromise your system, and yes, if your husband is not treated as well, you and he will continue to pass it back and forth. Read more here: fibromyalgia-irritable-bowel-candida-support.com/ about-candida.aspx We have had great results with the anti-fungal diet and supplements. They will not compromise your digestive tract and you will probably feel very good while taking them.

Sorry to hear about your dilemma, Jenns. Please know that you are not alone. Candida/ Yeast Infections are on the rise incredibility and unfortunately so! Yes, yeast infections are contagious and you should both seek out measures in which to naturally heal from this. Good news is, it can be easily treated with just changing your diet and taking some easy hygiene measures. You definitely don't want to be spreading it back and forth to each other. I've also heard that yes, it can be spread through mother's milk. Just to be on the safe side, you may want to consider a course of good bacteria and homoeopathics for your baby. What not to do, is give your baby antibiotics as these will not only kill the good bacteria in your babies gut (which a good part of it has been taken over by the Candida), but may manifest into conditions such as asthma and allergies later on down the road. Your breast milk is the best medicine/ food that your baby can eat. Do not quit breastfeeding, I would highly suggest. Just make sure that you get your overgrowth under control as quickly as possible.
