Question: What is the cause of my bloaty stomach-worms, excess candida, age, etc...?

I've noticed that during the last year (I'm 31) my stomach and lower abs are constantly bloaty- I used to have a flatter stomach and I never really worked my abs out that much. No I'm not pregnant. I've been reading a lot about Candida and how excess sugar leads to excess Candida which can cause bloating. Yes I eat a ton of sugar. Also for years I fill up only after a small amount of food. If its protein I can only eat a few bites- yes bites. Carbs and sugar, on the other hand, I could eat like a bottomless pit. I also eat a lot of veggies and some fruits. I've been to the GI doc last year who said I have a lactose intolerance (even though I had cereal practically every day of my life) so I have tried hard to limit dairy. However, I'm ok with cutting out dairy altogether except for 1- 2x a month. I have also been reading (not sure exactly what percent) that some people DO have worms. How do I know if that is the cause of my bloaty stomach? How do I make my stomach/ abs go down? What should I eat? I am 5'6 " and weigh 148 lbs.

Worms are quite rare in countries where people have enough money to get on the Internet. I'm assuming that you don't chew on blades of grass from cow pastures, even though they're sweet :) Much more likely it's the candida. Are you getting yeast infections, ringworm or athlete's foot? They're also fungal infections. From what I know about candida, you need to cut down on your sugar intake. People crave sugar when they need protein. As you can only eat a little protein at a time, I suggest eating it frequently, like tofu cheese and a couple of hours later a handful of nuts. I'm sure you know this, but stay away from sugary soft drinks. They're loaded with sugar. And, of course, eat lots of vegetables. Less fruit, because it has more sugar than vegetables. If it's not the candida, are you drinking enough water? I noticed that when I increased my water intake I lost bloat. My body realized that there was not a drought going on, so it didn't have to conserve water. Still, my money's on the candida. Good luck.

I was bloated and followed the no sugar diet for a few months and also drinking cabbage juice to increase the good bacteria in the stomach. I ended up losing 10kg and a lot of it was in my stomach. My understanding of the bloated stomach is there is more bad bacteria in then stomach then good.

Learn all about candida at fibromyalgia-irritable-bowel-candida-support.com/ about-candida.aspx If you live on sugar, it's likely you have candida or something along the same lines that is treated the same way. You need to go on the anti-fungal diet: fibromyalgia-irritable-bowel-candida-support.com/ anti-fungal-diet.aspx which entails not only removing sugar for 2-3 weeks, but also alcohol, fruit juice, dried fruit, vinegar, etc. All of these foods also feed the candida and in order to get rid of it you need to not only stop feeding it, but also take supplements (Morinda Supreme and Melia Supreme) that will kill it. It will probably be difficult for you to change your diet so dramatically, but it will help you more than you can believe. Good luck.
