Could someone please tell me the difference between thrush, candida, cystitis and yeast infection?

Question: Could someone please tell me the difference between thrush, candida, cystitis and yeast infection?

How are they treated. I already tried some research but still can't get it. I have already asked my doctor but he went off topic. I think I have Candida and want to be armed with information when I go back.

Ok - thrush is a yeast infection. it is caused by a fungal infection (yeast is fungus) calld candida. candida can also cause atheletes foot, oral thrush and others - thrush is when the delicate balance of bacteria in the mouth, vagina or penis etc becomes out of balance and more of the candida fungas becomes present. candida can also affect other areas of the body such as stomach they are treated with anti fungal ointments, pessaries or oral tablets usually, but there are natural remedies that help (live yoghurt is great as it helps restore balance of good bacteria) anti biotics are often the cause as they can disturb balance of bacteria. candida is usually present but in harmless amounts

Candidiasis or thrush is a fungal infection that causes irritation and swelling of the vagina and vulva. Cystitis is a bacterial infection of the bladder. Anti-fungals treat the former, antibiotics treat the latter.

Thrush, candida and yeast infection are all the same sort of thing just different names. Basically we all have a natural level of yeast in our bodies, however now and again due to heat, sugar levels, humidity (all the right conditions) the yeast builds up and you get an excess. It can cause a white ish discharge, smell, itching, soarness Can happen in all sorts of place, mouth, toilet parts etc And to all ages and sexes. treated with an antifungal cream or a tablet Cystitis is an infection in your bladder, much more common in women, but can happen in men. bacterial infection of the bladder which causes pain/ burning sensation during urination, and sense of urgency to urinate but nothing comes out, feeling like you need to wee all the time this is treated with antibiotics or by drinking lots of fluids to flush it out of your system

Treatment of Candidiasis is truly not simple, but the first step is the proper diet avoiding sugars in all forms, even limiting complex carbohydrates usually thought to be good for you, (see bottom of page for a detailed list). Candida is a yeast, and anything that might feed it must be avoided; this means cutting out all sugars (even honey), fruits, starches, vinegar and alcohol. No more maple syrup, corn syrup, white bread, soft drinks, or cereals. They should be replaced with vegetables and lean proteins. No more dried or fresh fruits, mushrooms, pizza or pastries. As and when the condition improves, some of these things may be added back in - but many people feel so much better without them, they want to keep the improvement permanently! What is cystitis? Cystitis is an infection of the bladder. It causes a burning feeling when weeing and sets off the urge in a patient to want to pee often. Usual cause of cystitis is infection from intestinal bacteria especially among women, who have a very short urethra (the tube through which the urine flows from the bladder out.) As a rule urine is sterile (without micro-organisms such as bacteria.) There can be many reasons for the bacteria settling in the bladder. Inadequate emptying, resulting in stagnation of urine which is a major cause for infection. Vaginal yeast infections are caused by Candida albicans, which, along with a few types of bacteria, are normally present in relatively small numbers in your crotch. Sometimes the yeast multiply rapidly and take over, causing a full-fledged yeast infection, or, in the heart-warming terminology of the medical establishment, candidiasis or monilia. This can be due to a change in the vaginal environment, injury, sexual transmission, or HIV. Common environmental disruptions that favor yeast include increased pH, increased heat and moisture, allergic reactions, elevated sugar levels, hormonal fluxes, and reductions in the populations of bacteria that are normally present. These can generally be traced to a few categories of culprits:

Thrush, candida, and yeast infection = all the same. "Candida " is the scientific name for the yeast (which is called "thrush " in the UK). All exactly, 100% the same. Cystitis is an inflammation of the bladder. It can be related to a bladder infection, usually caused by one strain or another of E.coli bacteria, not yeasts (not even close to being the same species or genus of micro-organisms).
